Breast Augmentation: Week 1 Review, 40-Minute Surgery & Smooth Healing

It's already been a week since my surgery and I honestly still can't believe it, haha. I was super nervous leading up to the surgery, but it ended up being over way faster than I expected! My surgery only took about 40 minutes, which honestly surprised me. Since I was on pain management, waking up from anesthesia was actually a bit tougher than the pain at the surgical site itself, but that feeling went away pretty quickly.
The day after surgery was definitely when the swelling was at its worst, and my body felt a little stiff overall. Still, it wasn't nearly as painful as I'd worried it might be — other than when I was lying down, I barely felt any pain. As the days went by, the bruising and swelling went down pretty steadily, and now everything looks a lot more natural.
Right after surgery, I barely had any feeling when I touched my chest, which felt kind of strange at first. But day by day, I could tell the sensation was slowly coming back, starting from the outer areas. My nipples are still a little numb, but I was told that's just part of the healing process, so I'm trying not to stress about it, haha.
Getting back to daily life happened faster than I thought it would! I was able to brush my teeth on my own from day one with no issues, and I started washing my hair by myself around the one-week mark since I wanted to be careful with using my arms. At this point I'm pretty much back to my normal routine, so I'm happy with how the recovery has been going.
Most of all, the before-and-after difference is so clear that I'm really happy with it. My clothes fit differently now and the shape looks so much prettier, so every time I look in the mirror it makes my day, haha. It's still only been a week so things need more time to settle, but I'm already this satisfied, so I'm even more excited to see how it turns out. Dr. Kim and the staff have been checking in on me the whole time, so I've been able to recover feeling really at ease!
