Breast Augmentation as a Mom of Two: Week 1 Review and Why I Chose UNE Plastic Surgery

After going through two pregnancies, every time I looked in the mirror I'd see my stretched-out stomach skin and my chest that had gotten smaller and saggier than ever, and honestly it really tanked my confidence as a woman. Since this was a bigger surgery that required general anesthesia, I crossed off any of those high-volume, factory-style clinics right from the start. I made a whole checklist — things like whether they show CCTV footage, whether an anesthesiologist is on site the whole time, emergency contact availability, aftercare policies — and while I was going through all that, one clinic stood out where Dr. Kim personally handles everything from the consultation to the actual surgery. For someone as paranoid and skeptical as me, that was honestly the most important factor. My surgery only took 30 minutes, but I don't think being quick means anything less skilled — if anything, working fast usually means the doctor really knows what they're doing. Taking longer doesn't automatically mean more care went into it, and being efficient doesn't mean it was rushed either.

I heard a lot of people get really bad chills in the recovery room afterward, but I didn't experience that at all — I think it's because they had the heater and electric mat already running before I even got there. Instead, my chest, armpits, and neck hurt quite a bit. From the day of surgery through day 4, it was honestly rough. Taking care of my two kids while my body was sore and uncomfortable, I kept second-guessing my decision every time I took a breath. But by day 5, my body started adjusting. Now I'm slowly starting to enjoy checking myself out in the mirror after a shower.
