Motiva 350/400cc Axillary Incision Dual Plane Breast Augmentation: Week 1 Review

Today marks exactly one week since my surgery!

I went to a few consultations before this, but Dr. Kim (we talked for almost 2 hours during the consult!) was so genuinely thorough and put me at ease, and the coordinator was super friendly too, so I booked my surgery date right away. Honestly every single staff member at the clinic left a great impression on me.

164cm / 50kg

Motiva / axillary incision / dual plane

I went with 350cc on the right and 400cc on the left.

I originally had uneven breasts, and after having two kids my skin had gotten thin with a lot less elasticity.

I needed to keep things looking natural while still getting some real volume, and I feel like they nailed that balance perfectly.

(At one clinic they actually recommended I go up to 450cc, which honestly shocked me)

I'm happy enough with the results that if any of my friends were considering breast surgery, I'd confidently recommend this place to them.

They estimated the surgery would take about 40 minutes, and it really did go by fast — and I barely had any bruising afterward.

Before the surgery I wondered, "is it actually a good thing if it's over quickly?" but it turns out the speed really does make a difference in how fast you recover and how much pain you deal with.

For me, the discomfort was pretty much manageable to the point I'd call it close to no discomfort.

My arms, back, and shoulders were a bit uncomfortable, but the breasts themselves barely hurt at all.

General anesthesia was what worried me the most, but the in-house anesthesiologist must be really skilled because I didn't get any sore throat or that raspy feeling afterward, and I recovered comfortably with no side effects at all. Honestly it felt pretty much the same as waking up from IV sedation for me.

It was also nice that since I was already under anesthesia, I could get some cosmetic procedures done at the same time.

Being a breast specialty clinic, they were incredibly thorough, and even though I was really nervous before the surgery, watching Dr. Kim's YouTube videos beforehand answered a lot of my questions. I actually went into the operating room feeling calmer than I expected. It felt like they'd already addressed exactly the things I was worried about, haha.

And I'm only one week out, but—

especially considering I'm 40 years old, I'm really happy with both the shape and how I'm recovering.

I'm already looking forward to seeing how it looks in a month.
