Surgery day review

At UNE the recovery room and changing room are combined,

and the facility was seriously clean and private, so I had a great first impression right away.

After changing, they walked me through the gargle instructions first,

and even during the consent form process the consultation was so friendly, with every single question answered so carefully that it really put me at ease. You could definitely tell it's a breast-focused plastic surgery clinic just from how thorough the consultation was. Dr. Kim clearly has a ton of know-how from focusing specifically on breast surgeries.

I also got the surgery package I'd heard about during the consultation,

and they took out each item one by one and explained in detail when and how to use it.

For anesthesia... I honestly don't even remember falling asleep, it happened that fast,

and when I opened my eyes it was already over.

In the recovery room the nurse kept checking on my pain level,

and at first the lower area and the left edge felt a little tight/knotted.

Dr. Kim personally pressed on the sore spots to check and said, "This'll settle down soon,"

and after the pain management shot and a bit of rest, it really did settle down fast...

They told me the surgery took 45 minutes.

After that I did a walking test with the nurse and got discharged.

Since I went without anyone with me, they were really considerate and told me to take breaks if changing clothes got tiring — that touched me so much.

Going solo review...

It's doable to go alone, but...

having someone with you would definitely make picking up meds or getting around a lot easier.

I went back and forth between bus vs. taxi and just ended up taking a taxi.

The second I got home I was so thirsty — I had my first sip of water 4 hours after surgery and it felt amazing, lol (crying tears of relief).

After that I got hungry so I had some pouch porridge, took my meds, and slept again...

But by dinner I'd recovered enough to eat galbitang (short rib soup)!

That said, getting up from bed was really tough, and the sore areas still had that throbbing, stinging feeling on and off.

Week 1 (progress + Hilite treatment)

Went in for my one-week visit.

I had quite a bit of bruising on the left side,

but after getting Hilite it noticeably faded!

The texture also got a lot softer and squishier.

I was worried about how the shape would settle even with the compression bra,

but Dr. Kim said, "Actually it looks like it might pull in a bit too much toward the center, let's have you wear the strap band."

Lol, he said the shape looked pretty and the progress was really good, so I was seriously relieved.

Dr. Kim is honestly so warm and thorough about everything,

and since he's done so many breast surgeries at a major hospital, he can apparently tell how things are progressing just from looking at the shape at one week!!! Kind of amazing.

Hearing him say it so confidently really put my mind at ease too.

Day 8 (back to work review)

Finally went back to work...!

I was worried since my job has me standing all day, but it was better than I expected.

There's a slight stinging feeling when I pick things up, but nothing that really gets in the way of work!

Can you see the before/after difference? It's pretty wild, lol — my clothes fit so much better now and I'm so excited.

Overall review

In the early days the swelling was so tight that I was honestly a little anxious.

But Dr. Kim kept reassuring me that they'd definitely settle toward the center and end up looking pretty just like the very first review photos I'd seen!!! That confidence really put me at ease.

And as I kept looking through other reviews,

comparing the "1 week ~ 1 month ~ 3 month" changes,

I realized my chest looked so similar to those reviews, lol.

I keep going back to look at those reviews over and over,

and I'm looking forward to mine getting even prettier as time goes on.
