Through childbirth, breastfeeding, and dieting, my upper-breast volume drained away while my accessory breast tissue grew more prominent — it stressed me in how clothes fit and even in how I looked in the mirror. It was something exercise could not fix, my confidence kept slipping, and I finally steeled myself to look into breast surgery.
After a great deal of research, I chose Dr. Kim Uigeon, who is widely known for keeping patients comfortable. He is famous for his short operation times, and the many reviews describing smooth recoveries gave me extra confidence. Above all, a single-surgeon, breast-only clinic felt truly specialized, and in review photos I really loved UNE's signature natural, pretty breast shape.
During the consultation, the director and the consultant were both wonderfully attentive, checking my body type and the look I wanted in detail, so I came away very satisfied. It did not feel like simply going bigger — I could tell they precisely understood what I was after.
For implants I chose Mentor Xtra, whose feel I liked best, and since my breast pockets differ in size, they went in at 350cc / 370cc. For the incision, I was uneasy about armpit scarring and wanted the smoothest possible recovery, so I decided on the inframammary approach.
My accessory breasts are more developed than most, so I had accessory-breast liposuction at the same time. They removed quite a lot, and the director said he designed it looking at my whole silhouette, accounting even for how the skin might settle later. There is still a lot of swelling so it does not look dramatic yet, but my armpit and side lines already feel a bit cleaner, which makes me happy.
I am now one week out, and it is far better than I imagined. After waking from anesthesia on day one there was some pain and stiffness, but nothing unbearable — I was even able to take the bus home. If anything, the throbbing near my armpits stood out more than the breasts themselves, about like pressing on a bruise.
They said the swelling and upper fullness still need to settle and the nipple position is still finding its place, but even as it is now, I am very happy. I am told it will only get more natural and prettier with time, so I am excited for the changes ahead :)
